Description

MC-Flow Seal Flex is a flexible two-component cementitious coating modified with styrene-acrylic polymer. It is used as a water-resistant layer on concrete surfaces.

Where to use

Waterproofing foundations, tunnels and machinery pits. Waterproofing reservoirs, swimming pools, sewage works and potable-water tanks, as stated by the source. Coating concrete structures and walls. Protecting concrete surfaces in marine environments.

Advantages

Easy application. Interior and exterior use against positive or negative water pressure. Provides uniform colour and texture. Long-term protection. Forms a coherent cementitious layer bonded to the substrate. Excellent flexibility from polymer modification. Excellent adhesion to concrete. Resistance to ultraviolet exposure and weathering. The source states suitability for potable-water and sewage projects.

Surface preparation

Clean surfaces by wire brushing, scraping or suitable mechanical preparation to remove weak material and foreign matter. Remove salts, oils and contaminants by chemical or other appropriate cleaning. Repair cracks, holes and active leakage with suitable repair materials such as MC-Flow Plug, as referenced by the source. Dampen walls before application; the substrate should be damp with no free water at the time of coating.

Mixing

Add one 20 kg bag of powder to 5 kg of polymer solution in a clean container. Mix mechanically until a homogeneous paste/mortar suitable for application is obtained.

Application

Brush application: use a stiff-fibre brush and work the material into the substrate pores; finish in one direction while maintaining a wet edge. Apply the second coat after approximately 24 hours, with suitable substrate dampening beforehand. Trowel application: the second coat may be adjusted to a firmer mortar consistency by reducing the polymer proportion as described by the source. Do not apply when the temperature may fall below 7°C or to frozen substrates; curing time is temperature-dependent.

Storage & packaging

Shelf life: 12 months in unopened packaging. Packaging: 20 kg powder + 5 kg liquid polymer.
