Description

MC-Metal Grout is a specially prepared, ready-to-use, non-shrink grout for use from fluid to damp-pack consistency. It is intended for high-strength precision bearing beneath machines or plates, including machine bases subjected to thermal movement.

Where to use

Machinery and equipment requiring high strength, maximum bearing, impact resistance and non-shrink precision grouting. Crane rail plates and rolling, stamping, drawing or finishing mills in steel and aluminium industries. Paper-machine installations. Turbines, generators and centrifugal compressors. Applications where shrinkage must be eliminated to achieve maximum load and bearing transfer. Anchor bolts and rods.

Advantages

Hardens without bleeding, settlement or drying shrinkage when mixed, placed and cured at the appropriate consistency. Dense grout without gas-generating or air-release agents such as aluminium powder. Withstands thermal movement and cyclic heating/cooling and wetting/drying effects, according to the source. Ductile metallic aggregate provides higher strength and improved impact resistance under dynamic and repetitive loading. Develops strength without vertical confinement. Meets the source-referenced non-shrink requirements of CRD-C588-76.

Precautions

The source specifies an approximate 7-40°C temperature range for the bedplate, foundation and grout. Do not use water in an amount or at a temperature that produces a flow of less than 20 seconds under the referenced CRD-C 79-77 test or causes bleeding / segregation.
