Description

MC-Kibo Epoxy is a two-component epoxy coal-tar compound used as a protective and waterproofing coating that cures to form a tenacious black film.

Where to use

Lining tanks containing oil, gasoline, aqueous solutions and dilute acids and alkalis. Pipes and channels carrying industrial waste and sewage. Steel and concrete structures fully or partly immersed in seawater.

Where to use

Lining tanks containing oil, gasoline, aqueous solutions and dilute acids and alkalis. Pipes and channels carrying industrial waste and sewage. Steel and concrete structures fully or partly immersed in seawater.

Advantages

Provides a durable protective layer for steel, concrete and masonry. Resistant to chemical attack and corrosive fumes according to the approved source. The cured layer does not crack under hydrostatic pressure according to the approved source. Easy to use and generally does not require a primer according to the approved source. Good resistance to water media and waterproofing.

Surface preparation

Scrape and wire-brush the surface to remove loose scale and foreign particles.

Mixing

Thoroughly mix the correct amount of component A and component B for at least 5 minutes.

Application

Apply by brush or airless spray. Use mixed material within the pot life. The approved source calls for a minimum of two coats; the second coat may be applied 24 hours after the first.

Packaging

5 kg component A + 0.7 kg component B.

Safety

Prevent material from entering the eyes and avoid skin contact. Provide adequate ventilation. Keep away from sparks and flames when handling solvent-containing materials or cleaning solvents.

Storage / shelf life

Shelf life is 12 months under suitable storage conditions.
