Description

MC-Flow Seal S.F is a flexible two-component polymer-cement-based water-resistant coating for concrete.

Where to use

• Seals foundations, tunnels and machinery pits. • Leak-proofs reservoirs, swimming pools and sewage works. • For rubbing concrete structures and walls. • Protection of concrete surfaces in marine areas.

Surface preparation

Clean the surface with a wire brush, scraping or chipping to remove defective material and foreign matter. Chemically remove remaining efflorescence, oil and similar contamination. Repair cracks and holes with MC-Flow Plug hydraulic cement compound to stop flowing water. Punch weep holes at the base to relieve water pressure. Dampen walls one hour before application and keep damp, allowing moisture to soak in. Dense concrete should be wetted at least twice, not less than 30 minutes apart. The surface must be damp, with no free water, immediately before application. If MC-Flow Seal S.F begins to pull during application, the surface has not been properly wetted.

Mixing

Empty a 20 kg bag of MC-Flow Seal S.F into the polymer solution in a clean container and mix thoroughly with a suitable mixer to obtain a uniform slurry. For mortar consistency on trowel application, use less polymer solution as required.

Application

Brush application: apply MC-Flow Seal S.F with a stiff fibre brush. Scrub well into the damp wall, filling all pores, then brush out and finish with a final stroke in one direction while maintaining a wet edge. Apply a second coat after 24 hours. Trowel application: apply as above; on the second coat, trowel the two-component mixture with less polymer solution to maintain mortar consistency. Fill holes with MC-Flow Plug and finish with MC-Flow Seal S.F. Do not apply when the temperature may fall below 7°C or when the wall is frozen. Curing time depends on temperature.
