Description
MC-Epo Joint is a two-component epoxy mortar for laying and grouting ceramic tiles. It is available as MC-Epo Joint NS (non-sag) and MC-Epo Joint SL (self-leveling).
Where to use
Laying and grouting ceramic tiles and mosaics in public swimming pools, thermal baths, brine or therapy baths. Industrial tiling exposed at ambient temperature to dilute chemical products, high mechanical loads or high-pressure cleaning. Laboratories, food-industry areas, kitchens and workshops. The approved source states joints should be 2-10 mm wide and at least 5 mm deep.
In certain cases, use as a thin-layer tiling cement on customary substrates such as cement coatings or concrete.
Advantages
Resistance to acids and acidic materials. Good workability at ambient temperature. Temperature resistance up to +100°C. Impermeable to seepage and waterproof. Very high mechanical strength.
Preparation & mixing
Surface to be tiled must be dry and clean. Combine components A and B and mix mechanically until homogeneous. At low temperatures, the approved source recommends warming the separate components in a water bath before mixing. Apply as soon as mixed.
Application
Apply with a toothed spatula or by the floating method. Grout with a squeegee, spatula or jointing gun. Tile sides must be dry and grease-free. Observe normal hardening time after tile laying. Remove excess material immediately by passing the squeegee diagonally across the tiles and clean tile surfaces with suitable epoxy thinner and sponge. Once hardened, the material can no longer be removed.
Safety
Prevent material from entering the eyes, avoid skin contact, provide adequate ventilation, and keep away from sparks and flames where solvent-containing material is involved.
