Description

MC-Bento Rubber Strip is a swelling waterstop strip that expands on contact with water. It consists of a special rubber compound containing natural sodium bentonite, butyl rubber and selected additives.

Where to use

Waterstop for concrete construction joints. Around water-structure and pipe connections to form a durable seal by swelling on contact with water.

Advantages

Flexible strip and easy to use. Expands on contact with water. Can replace conventional PVC waterstops in suitable applications. High resistance to hydrostatic pressure. Suitable for contact with potable water, as stated by the source. No welding required. Economical installation.

Application

Concrete construction joints: substrate should be dry, clean and level; place the strip approximately at the centre of the joint. Secure with steel nails or a suitable adhesive. Connect strips with approximately 10 cm overlap and secure the overlap. Around pipes: wrap the strip around the pipe and overlap the ends by approximately 10 cm.

Precautions & sizes

Do not use MC-Bento Rubber Strip in expansion joints. Provide adequate concrete cover on both sides of the strip. Keep the product dry and protected from moisture before installation. Available sizes Several sizes are available according to concrete cover and project requirements; the source lists sizes from approximately 10 × 15 mm up to 20 × 35 mm, with special sizes available on request.
